About
The art I create and the pieces within my portfolio, idolize popular and iconic elements of pop culture. My passion lets me express my kitschy and edgy style, creating works that encompass elements that build upon our pop culture. Some of my illustrations include a satirical stance on the idolized components, and others bring attention to themselves by simply glamourising them.
I generate my concepts by becoming enamored with a certain object, idea, or value; whether it be the color, aesthetic, energy, history, or representation. Sometimes this influences the mediums I work with depending on the character or what I’m trying to portray.
My work resembles what I am drawn to through encounters, and I discovered that others find the subject matter within my art relatable as well. There are many different perspectives one can acquire within the details of my work, thus raising diverse opinions which empowers me to create more. My goal for future work is to expand my exploration and identify concepts that I am drawn to which society influences.
I want to continue to create pieces that embrace my abstract, kitschy style; provoking one’s awareness from observing the amusement of the iconic components that we can identify with.
There are those that fear the unknown circumstances of the future, but I see it as opportunity for many possible paths. I am open to all of the different opportunities that await my desire to share my passion of art and to embrace the connections that come along the way, allowing me to see the world in a new light and expanding my perspective in areas I have yet to discover.
I might not know the exact route of my journey, but that is part of the artist – being able to bare your soul through risks, not knowing what will befall you, as you let inspiration strike.
